MTSU – Pi Kappa Phi

On August 15th, the Delta Iota chapter of Pi Kappa Phi will be having its third annual Matt Memorial Golf Tournament at the Richland Country Club in Brentwood, TN. Richland has recently been ranked as one of the Top 10 Golf Courses in Tennessee and has been gracious enough to host the tournament for the third straight year. Proceeds from this tournament will go to sponsor the Matt Holt Memorial scholarship, a $1500 a semester scholarship that is only available to Brothers.

On Sunday July 31st, the Delta Iota chapter was able to host the Build America team for dinner. We all went out to Barfield Crescent Park where we grilled out and played a couple of innings of softball. The Build America team seemed quite pleased for the break in driving and the warm hospitality we were able to provide them. They even mentioned that we had more men from the chapter show up than any other chapter they stopped at and that this was probably the best stop they made all summer. We were excited to have three possible recruits enjoy the event as well.

Even though the softball game was eventually called on account of lack of daylight, the whole event went down as a success and became a great way to start off the busy period just before school starts.
